Your prediction for our final league position?
We're one third of the way through the season and that's enough for a good idea of how things are going to pan out for the rest of the season. Or should be.

I predict we're going to finish 8th.

Chelsea will win the league, Man City 2nd and Man Utd 3rd.

Arsenal and Liverpool will occupy 4th and 5th, with Southampton in 6th. Spurs will make it to 7th, followed by us and then Newcastle.

QPR, Burnley and one other to be relegated.

Would have said top half until our usual injury nightmare returned. We have winnable games coming up but we know that we must have our new strikers back to get the 3 pts in these.

If we are faced with the continued absence of key players then 14th to 16th at best, we really get some cruel luck don't we?

12th-14th.
Hopefully the recent run will keep us clear of the mire. But with injuries ahead of games we could have won and BFS returning to his favoured few players at the weekend, it could be heading for a pear shaped situation.
Hope I'm wrong and we stay up there but cannot see it.

Re: Your prediction for our final league position?
Hopefully it'll help us attract / keep specific players and help us to increase our revenues.

I'm obviously getting ahead of myself here but IF we were to qualify, below is a drilldown of potential prize money.

A group stage participation in the Europa League awards a base fee of €1.3 million.
A victory in the group pays €200,000 and a draw €100,000.
Also, each group winner earns €400,000 and each runner-up €200,000. Reaching the knock-out stage triggers additional bonuses: €200,000 for the round of 32, €350,000 for the round of 16, €450,000 for the quarter-finals and €1 million for the semi-finals. The losing finalists receive €2.5 million and the champions get €5 million

First qualifying round: €120,000
Second qualifying round: €130,000
Third qualifying round: €140,000
Play-off round elimination: €150,000
Base fee for group stage: €1,300,000
Group match victory: €200,000
Group match draw: €100,000

I want to watch West Ham in Europe so yes. League can get boring at times.

Re: Your prediction for our final league position?
Do we really want to get Europa League qualification? Whilst it would be fantastic to see us compete in this tournament, it means that our league form could suffer and add to a long list of injuries our small squad would not be able to handle.

thoughts....?

1st, 4pts ahead with one game to go. Then global nuclear war will break out, just to stop us winning the league.

Oh, you meant this season...

Re: Your prediction for our final league position?
With a third-string side we are certainly better than Everton and Spurs. Our full team has beaten Liverpool and Man City and so far only Southampton has outclassed us. We are up there in the top 8. Depending on injuries, we could make Europe but most likely through the FA Cup.
